Himanta announces Rs 5 lakh reward

GUWAHATI, May 31: State Education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today visited HSLC 2016 exam topper Sarfaraz Hussan’s home to congratulate him on his success, and announced a Rs 5 lakh reward in addition to Rs 10 lakh to his school for infrastructure development. “The Assam government will fix a deposit of Rs 5 lakh against Sarfaraj’s me for his future studies. Sarfaraj tells me that he wants to pursue his higher secondary course at Cotton College. The State government will also bear all his educatiol expenses in Cotton College till his Class 12 examition,” said Sarma. The State Education minister also directed the Public Works department to develop an approach road to the school, located in Betkuchi area in the city.
