HNLC calls shutdown on April 22

SHILLONG, April 19: The proscribed Hynniewtrep tiol Liberation Council (HNLC) has called for a 12-hour bandh on April 22 in Khasi-Jaintia Hill region. The bandh will be in force from 5 am to 5 pm. In a statement issued here on Sunday, Sainkupar Nongtraw, publicity secretary, HNLC said the shutdown has been called “in protest against the Indian political leadership and for the atrocities perpetrated by the Sangh Parivar on minorities”. It may be mentioned that BJP tiol president Amit Shah will be visiting Shillong on April 22.
