How could Bodos enjoy two status: (KSA) President Semion Rongphar

HAMREN: Karbi Students' Association (KSA) president Semion Rongphar on Monday questioned as to how the Bodos enjoy two status under the Constitution of India. “The Bodos are already enjoying the ST (Plain) status. Now they are demanding ST (Hill) status in Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts.

“How can one community enjoy two statuses? The ruling BJP is trying to divide the ethnic communities,” he said.

He also appeals to the people of Karbi Anglong to join the Karbi National Strike Day on December 8 demanding repeal of the Clause VIII of the BTC Accord. “We have been urging the Central and State governments to respond to and fulfil our genuine demands,” Rongphar said.
