HSLC, High Madrasa exams begin

GUWAHATI, Feb 17: The HSLC and the Assam High Madrasa exams started from Friday all over the State. As many as 3,80,665 students are appearing in the HSLC exam and 10,547 students in the AHM exam. Sources said 47 students were expelled in Dhubri district, 8 in gaon district and 16 in Hailakandi district for resorting to unfair means during the exam. In the city, headmaster of the Ganeshgar High School was arrested on Thursday night based on an FIR filed by the examition controller, SEBA for not giving admit cards to 17 students before the exam.  Eighty–three of the 855 examition centres in the State have been detected as sensitive. Besides the promulgation of 144 CrPC in areas of examition centres, each of the centres is under CCTV surveillance.
