IED blast near Doomdooma town

TINSUKIA, Aug 11: An IED exploded with deafening sound, a kilometre away from Doomdooma town on Doomdooma-Phillobari bypass at 7.20 am on Thursday. There was no loss of human life as the place of explosion was desolate with no human habitation around. Following this blast on the eve of Independence Day, police have launched massive combing operations in Phillobari, Pengeree, Kordoiguri and nearby sensitive areas. Senior police officials have been camping in the area. The militants, to show their presence and to make their strength felt in the belt, exploded the device in a deserted location, observed Lamhao Doungel, Additiol SP(Hq), Tinsukia.
