Information About How to get Widow Pension

If a widow has not entered into wedlock after the demise of her spouse, not received any other government pension under other schemes, not paying income tax, and not covered under the ‘PRANAM Act-2017’, she can get pension under the ‘Indira Miri Sarbajanin Bidhava Pension Asoni’. Under this scheme, widows aged from 18-60 years get Rs 300 as pension per month.

To avail this pension, the concerned person has to apply to the Panchayat & Rural Development (P&RD) Department, Government of Assam, through her development block or gaon panchayat. She has to mention her name, date of birth, her late husband’s name, the date of his death, her complete address, bank details, mobile number and at least one of the following documents identifying her – the PAN Card or the Voter ID Card or the Aadhaar Card or the Ration Card/PDS Card or her driving licence, or the MGNREGA Job Card.
