Information About How To Pay Land Tax

Have you purchased a plot of land? If so, get the sale deed done and the land mutated to your name. As a land owner, you need to pay land tax (khajna) annually. In the first year, you need to submit a duplicate copy each of the sale deed and mutation papers to the Mouzadar of the Revenue Circle you belong to. It’s for the Mouzadar to ascertain the veracity of the duplicate copies of your sale deed and mutation papers. After verification of the papers, the Mouzadar is supposed to receive the tax and issue you a receipt against the payment made, if he’s satisfied with the papers. In the subsequent years, you won’t have to submit duplicate copies of your land deed and mutation papers as the receipt of land tax payment serves as proof.

The rate of tax depends on the category of land – that may be residential land, agricultural land, commercial land and industrial land.
