Jamaat invite to RSS-BJP leaders!

Guwahati, July 25: An invitation letter for a religious meeting organized by the Assam unit of Jamaat Ulema-e-Hind has created a flutter in the BJP. The letter bears the me of senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar as the chief guest of the programme, while BJP's Assam observer Mahendra Singh will be the special guest. The religious meeting is being organized at Doboka tomorrow. Jamaat Ulema-e-Hind tiol president Maula Swaib Kasimi will be present at the meeting which will be chaired by Mufti Ibadur Rehman Kasimi. Sources today said that though Mahendra Singh had earlier consented to attend the meeting, he later decided against it following constertion within the party, which feared that his presence at the meeting could spark a controversy. Meanwhile, there is growing curiosity regarding the Jamaat Ulema-e-Hind organization. Not many are sure as to when the organization was established, by whom and with what objective. Some functiories in the State Jamiat Ulema-E-Hind alleged that the RSS was behind floating of the organization. "They have just made minor changes in the me - replaced the word Jamiat with Jamaat - to confuse the people. It is basically an election plank to woo the Muslim voters," they said. BJP leaders refused to comment on the issue.
