JP Rajkhowa new Aruchal Pradesh Governor

NEW DELHI, May 12: The rendra Modi government today appointed four new Governors and transferred two others appointed by the previous UPA government. Former Chief Secretary of Assam J P Rajkhowa was appointed Governor of Aruchal Pradesh. A 1968-batch IAS officer, Rajkhowa has been actively involved in issues related to the Northeast after his retirement. Present Aruchal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (retd) Nirbhay Sharma has been shifted to Mizoram for the remainder of his term. Noted Sangh leader V Shanmuganthan has been appointed as Governor of Meghalaya. Governor of Jharkhand Syed Ahmed has been shifted to Manipur for the remainder of his term that ends in September next year. BJP leader from Odhisa Draupadi Murmu has been appointed as new Governor of Jharkhand. Among other gubertorial appointments, senior BJP leader from West Bengal Tathagata Roy has been appointed Governor of Tripura, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said.
