Kalam was teacher extraordiry'

GUWAHATI, July 28: Former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s mortal remains were brought to Guwahati by a special IAF chopper from Shillong on Tuesday morning.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi paid his last respects to the former President of India at the Air Force Station at Borjhar on the outskirts of Guwahati city in the wee hours today.
Talking to media persons, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi while deeply condoling the demise of Dr Kalam on behalf of the people of Assam said, “India has lost a renowned scientist, a super human being and a people’s President. A man of simple living and high thinking, Dr. Kalam was a teacher extraordiry who ignited the young minds and wanted to build a vibrant and resilient India through them. His death is an irreparable loss to the whole world and India in particular.” Besides Chief Minister Gogoi, Governor of Meghalaya, V. Shanmugathan, former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, Minister for Agriculture, Rakibul Hussain, Parliamentary Secretary, Rekibuddin Ahmed, Chief Secretary, VK Pipersenia, Additiol Chief Secretary to CM, MGVK Bhanu, DGP, Khagen Sarma, Commissioner & Secretary to Governor of Assam, Ajay Tewari, Commissioner & Secretary, Home, LS Changsan, APCC President, Anjan Dutta and a host of dignitaries and officials were present on the occasion.
