Lessons of time magement from Commerce toppers

By Our Staff Reporter

Guwahati, May 30: Both the toppers in the HS Commerce stream have set an example of time magement - how leisure activities and academics can be pursued side by side.

While Sweta Agarwal of KC Das Commerce College has a craze for Bolllywood flicks, especially the ones starring Ranbir Kapoor, music and cricket had a decent share in the daily schedule of Mas Pratim Goswami of Gauhati Commerce College.

“Besides, I also like to pick up fights with my brother,” an elated Sweta, who wants to become a CA after completing her graduation from the same college, told The Sentinel. She devoted four to five hours to her studies regularly though she used to hang out with her friends occasiolly. Daughter of advocate Om Prakash Agarwalla and Sunita Agarwalla, Sweta does not believe in private tuitions.

A guitarist, Mas, on the other hand, aspires to become a teacher.

Besides relatives and his institutions – both present and past – Mas also acknowledged the guidance from his mentor KD Sharma that helped him achieve spectacular success.

“There is no short cut to success. Hard work is the key,” Mas, son of Prafulla Goswami and Himani Goswami, said.

He has two other wishes – he wants to see more Assamese students in the Commerce stream and desires to see Assam football achieve greater heights.

Both Sweta and Mas scored 469 marks out of 500.
