Lime scam: 334 officials get bail

Guwahati, Feb 18: The Gauhati High Court has granted to anticipatory bail to 334 officials of the State Agriculture department in the alleged lime supply scam. The court, however, reserved its order in the case of twenty six other officials, against whom there are prima facie charges. Court has asked for the case diary from the CID. The alleged Rs 92-crore lime supply scam in the department was brought to light by the Krishak Sramik Unyan Parishad, after which the CID registered a case and launched investigation.
