Mahanta flays tiol parties

GUWAHATI, Oct 12: Continuing his attack on the tiol political parties for playing down with the sentiments of the people of Assam, former Chief Minister of Assam Prafulla Kumar Mahanta on Monday said that the tiol political parties have failed miserably in solving the economic and social problems of the State. Slamming the NDA and the Congress, Mahanta said, “When the AGP was in power, we pressurized upon the Centre for 90-10 funding pattern where the State’s share is 10 per cent and the Center’s share is 90 per cent. But after the NDA came into power, they slashed the 90-10 pattern and the Congress led State government failed to protest.”
