Our responsibility has doubled now. People have voted for the alliance with lot of hope. It is a big challenge for us. The alliance government will try to meet the expectations of the people. Implementation of the Assam Accord will be our priority. Whichever department the chief minister gives me, I will try to meet his expectations -

During the elections in 1985, people had big expectations. Similar is the expectation now. In 1985, we were new to governce. But even then we could do certain things. This time we will work as a team. With the advice and blessings of the people, we will work sincerely to fulfill the people's expectations

The five-party alliance has been given a chance by the people. The BJP, which is ruling at the Centre, will guide us as a guardian. The Assam Accord was signed after a six-year historic agitation. We have put a condition to the BJP to give top-most priority to the implementation of the accord in the common minimum programme. They have agreed to it
