MLA Kripanath Mallah files papers for Deputy Speaker post

GUWAHATI, Sept 25: Ratabari MLA Kripanath Mallah of the BJP submitted his nominations as a contender for the post of Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly on Tuesday. Since Mallah is the lone candidate for the post and the last date of filing of nomination papers concluding on Tuesday, he is likely to be elected unopposed to the post. The post of Deputy Speaker in the State Assembly fell vacant since BJP MLA Dilip Paul resigned as the Deputy Speaker.
