Modi talks of ga pact in Dubai

Dubai, August 17: Prime Minister rendra Modi on Monday said different factions in galand have been ebled to join the tiol mainstream after the signing of the peace accord between the central government and the NSCN-IM.

“I want to talk about galand,” Modi said addressing 50,000 cheering expatriate Indians at the Dubai Cricket Stadium here on the second day of his two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

“Less than a month ago, we moved ahead successfully with different factions of galand after 60-70 years of insurgency (in that northeastern state),” Modi said referring to the peace accord signed on August 3 between the government and the tiol Socialist Council of galand (Isak-Muivah).

“I am citing galand because I want to tell people across the world, including the youth, that however complicated a problem might be, it can be solved through dialogue,” he said.

The UAE is home to around 2.6 million expatriate Indians and Modi’s visit is the first by an Indian prime minister in 34 years.
