GUWAHATI, July 29: More skeletons in the APSC’s closet! After the large-scale ACS candidate selection anomalies, the KMSS has caught the APSC on the wrong foot yet again, now in the selection of 11 senior information officer candidates, 2012. KMSS joint secretary Bhasko De Saikia said this in a press conference here today: "In the selection of senior information officer under APSC in 2012, Chairman Rakesh Paul and his subordites were involved in illegal practices. They selected the candidates who even don't meet the eligibility criteria. APSC member Basanta Kumar Doley and Secretary Dipak Kumar Sarma, who were the helper of Paul, selected 11 candidates for the posts. Topper Priyanku Jyoti Sarma, Barli Mishra, Mandiar Ckaringia, Samar Kalita and Utpal Dimasa didn’t have any qualification and experience in jourlism. Another selected candidate, Bikash Sarma, had a crimil case going on. However, the candidates who got highest mark in written examition and other eligible candidates like Rafikuj Jamal, Prantik Mazumder, Prab Kumar Sarma and Mamun Borkotoky were not selected after having adequate qualification and experience. We, therefore, demand an inquiry into the selection procedure.”
