’NE to get 3 new TV channels’

GUWAHATI, January 12: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Monday said that three satellite televisions channels – Arun Prova, Mami and Asmi – would be started in the northeastern region. Addressing a press conference held here, Rathore said, “A permanent building of the New Delhi–based Indian Institute of Mass Communication would be built in Aizawl, capital of Mizoram and the Film and Television Institute will also be started in the region.”

He further said that all border areas of the region would get community radio service soon.

Rathore said that India has the pool of youth power. “If the forty crores youths of our tion interlize the ideals of Swami Vivekanda, then no force can stop India from being a superpower,” he added.
