Nepal Team To Visit AHSEC, Study Academic Processes

GUWAHATI: In a significant development, a government education board from a neighbouring country is evincing interest to visit the State and know in details as to how the higher secondary course and various other issues associated with it are conducted in Assam. In this regard, the National Examinations Board of Nepal has approached the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC).

Revealing this, Kamal Gogoi, the Secretary of AHSEC said that the Section Officer of the National Examinations Board, Nepal, Subash Shiwakoti has dispatched a letter to the Council. Meanwhile, the Council authorities have already given their nod to the Nepal delegation to visit the Council.

The delegates of the National Examinations Board of Nepal want to know in details the ‘evaluation and assessment system including general and technical’ of the Council. They also want to study the online practice and other pre-during-and-post-examination procedures. The Council will be involving 12,000 evaluators for the HS examination this year.

The AHSEC has 1,453 educational institutions including schools and colleges under its jurisdiction. Altogether 2,42,843 candidates have appeared in the HS examination this academic session. The examination is being conducted in 772 centres while the total venues are 20. Total evaluation zones are 46 while one has been notified as the Council zone. Besides CCTV, jammers have been installed for the first time in all the sensitive centres and halls of AHSEC.
