New train introduced to Silchar

NFR has decided to run Silchar-Guwahat-Sealdah Kanchanjungha Express from February 1

GUWAHATI, Jan 30: Fulfilling the long standing aspiration of the people of Barak Valley, the Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to introduce the 25658 / 25657 Silchar-Guwahati– Sealdah Tri-weekly Kanchanjungha Express (via Patharkhola - Mandardisa section) from next Monday.

NFR Chief PRO PJ Sarma said that the tri-weekly 25658 Kanchanjungha Express will leave Silchar at 9.45 am on every Monday, Wednesday & Friday and will arrive Sealdah at 7.25 pm on the next day. 

In the reverse direction the tri-weekly 25657 Kanchanjungha Express will leave Sealdah at 6-30 am every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday from February 1 to arrive Silchar at 4.30 pm on the next day, he said.

The commercial stoppages of the both up and down trains between Silchar and Sealdah are Badarpur, New Haflong, Guwahati, Kamakhya, Rangiya, lbari, Barpeta Road, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Fakiragram, Gossaigaon Hat, Kamakhyaguri, New Alipruduar, New Coochbehar, Falakata, Dhupguri, Jalpaiguri Road, New Jalpaiguri, Aluabari Road, Kishanganj, Dalkolha, Barsoi, Azamgar Road, Samsi, Malda Town, New Falakata, Pakur, Murarai, Rampur Hat, Sainthia, Ahmadpur, Bolpur Shantiniketan, Barddhaman and Dakhineswar, said the official.

Sarma said the train will have one AC-2 tier, four AC-3 tiers, six Sleeper Classes, four General Chair Cars, two General Second Class coaches and two guard vans. The fare structures between Sealdah and Silchar are Rs 2165 for AC-2 Tier, Rs 1480 for AC-3 Tier, Rs 550 for Sleeper Class and Rs 325 for General Chair Class for per adult.
