NIA in ULFA(I) chairman's school

GAON, Sept 21: tiol Investigation Agency (NIA) officers today visited a higher secondary school of Puranigudam area in which the alleged present chairman of ULFA (Independent), Dr Abhijit Axom alias Dr Mukul Hazarika had studied.

Accompanied by Samaguri police, the NIA team visited Radhakanta Boruah Higher Secondary School and quizzed the headmistress regarding the materials doted by Dr Mukul Hazarika recently to the school. London-based Dr Hazarika had doted some table tennis boards and other materials to the school on the occasion of the school's alumni meet.

Earlier, the NIA had sent a notice to the alleged ULFA (I) chairman's residence at Puranigudam Kasharigaon instructing him to appear before the NIA's Guwahati office on and before September 30. Later, the ULFA (I) had claimed that Dr Mukul Hazarika and Abhijit Axom were not the same person.
