Guwahati, June 18: The tiol Investigation Agency, probing the December 23 massacre in which over 80 Adivasis were killed, has caught an NDFB(S) militant involved in the carge.

Identified as Jamson rzary (30), a resident of Dwsaijora village of Laimuti police station of Kokrajhar, the cadre was today produced before a special court and taken into seven days' custody, NIA sources said.

Meanwhile, DGP Khagen Sarma has said there has been no fresh recruitment in the Bodo rebel group, which has been pushed to the wall by security forces after the December violence.

"However, there are some boys who are undergoing training in Myanmar. The outfit is trying to send them to Assam, but we are alert," Sarma told The Sentinel.

Responding to a query on the photograph of a group of armed girls found from an arrested NDFB(S) female cadre's mobile phone yesterday, the DGP said, "Earlier, the outfit had recruited some girls. The photograph is an old one. No fresh recruitment of girls has taken place, according to our information."

"We have caught some girls before…some have even surrendered," he added. Police sources said that there are around 20-25 girls in the NDFB (S), some of whom have been trained to handle weapons.
