No nomition papers

MANGALDAI, January 19: The civic polls in Assam are slated for February 9, and today was the first day of filing of nomition papers. However, in Darrang district, no nomition papers could be collected by any candidates. The candidates did approach the Darrang DC office to collect nomition papers on Monday but the administration could not provide them the papers.  When this correspondent met Darrang DC Manoj Kumar, he said that they could not provide nomition papers to the candidates as they were yet to be supplied with any nomition papers by the State Election Commission.  No candidate in these 18 wards in Mangaldai district could collect their nomition papers as yet.
