One killed in Assam floods, nearly 2 lakh hit

Guwahati, July 17: One person was killed due to floods at rayanpur in Lakhimpur on Sunday even as close to two lakh people were affected in seven districts of Assam. The civil administration in the affected districts which include Golaghat, Morigaon, Jorhat, Dhemaji, Biswath and Sivsagar have opened 25 relief camps to house over 4,000 people, the official said, adding that the floods have also inundated over 200 villages over 13,000 hectares of cropland.
