Pak hackers knock down KNP website

By Our Staff Reporter

Guwahati, May 9: The official website of Kaziranga tiol Park has been hacked and a Pakistani flag found in the defaced home page on Monday. The defaced home page also had the words “Shame On Your Security. [#] We Are Team Pak Cyber Attackers. # Pakistan Zindabad.” Red-faced park authorities immediately blocked the website www.kaziranga. assam. gov.in and informed the Assam Electronics Development Corporation Limited (AMTRON). Last year in October, security walls of around 15 websites of various government departments, including that of Assam Police, were breached and their home pages defaced by unknown hackers. All the sites were hosted by tiol Informatics Centre (NIC). The Parliament was recently informed that more than 8,000 incidents of website hacking have been reported in India in the first three months of 2016.

The government on its part has released the tiol Cyber Security Policy for public use and implementation by stakeholders. The objective of the policy is to create a framework for comprehensive, collaborative and collective response to deal with the issue of cyber security at all levels within the country.

In addition, the government has formulated cyber crisis magement plan for countering cyber attacks and cyber terrorism for implementation by all ministries/departments of Central government, state governments and their organisations and critical sectors.
