Parliamentary panel on Energy visits Guwahati

Guwahati, June 8: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy under the Chairmanship of MP Jagdambika Pal conducted a review meeting on 24 X 7 power supply in the North Eastern Region (NER) with the representatives of the Ministry of Power, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) and officials from the Assam power department. The chairman of the committee while reviewing the current status of power supply and future plans to cater the entire North Eastern region with 24 X 7 power supply, emphasized on giving more importance to hydro power generation as the NER is bestowed with enormous hydro potential which is still untapped.
