Guwahati, March 25: Altogether 562 nomitions have been found valid for the second phase of polls slated for April 11.
Sixty one constituencies go to polls in second phase.
Thirty one nomition papers were rejected by election officials during the scrutiny which concluded yesterday.
Like the first phase, a bulk of the nomitions is from Independent candidates. As many as 250 Independent candidates have filed their nomitions for the 61 seats. The number of female candidates is 47. The Congress has fielded candidates in 57 seats. The BJP is fighting in 35 seats while its alliance partners AGP and BPF are contesting in 19 and 10 seats respectively. The AIUDF has put up candidates in 47 seats.
Tomorrow is the last date of withdrawal of nomitions.
