PM Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Counterpart Sheikh Hasina Unveil two Projects

NEW DELHI, Sept 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday jointly unveiled e-plaques for the ground-breaking ceremony of two projects – India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline and Dhaka-Tongi-Joydebpur Railway Project. The ceremony was held via video conferencing. Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan also joined the proceedings. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister described the cooperation between the two countries as an example for the world. He said that the two countries are neighbours – geographically and emotionally.

Modi said the proposed pipeline will further energize not just Bangladesh’s economy, but will also strengthen the relationship between the two countries. He expressed confidence that the proposed railway project will contribute to the process of strengthening national and urban transport in Bangladesh.
