Poacher killed in Kaziranga

GUWAHATI, May 13: Forest guards shot dead a poacher in Kaziranga tiol Park on Wednesday, taking the total number of poachers killed this year to 25. The Special Task Force and forest guards launched an operation in the Burapahar range following information that a seven-member gang of poachers had sneaked into the park. They engaged the poachers in a gunfight near Borbhug forest camp. In the gun battle, a poacher was shot dead while the rest maged to escape. A .303 rifle was recovered from the slain poacher who is yet to be identified.
