Prince William, Kate to visit Kaziranga

Guwahati, Feb 27: Britain's Prince William and wife Kate will visit Kaziranga tiol Park during their week-long tour to India and Bhutan in April. The royal couple, who will not be bringing their two young children, will be in the Unesco World Heritage Site on April 12 and 13.

They will arrive in India on April 10 and during their stay they will also visit New Delhi, Mumbai and the Taj Mahal.

Kensington Palace said in a statement that the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will focus on young people, sport, entrepreneurship, Indian efforts to relieve urban poverty, creative arts, and rural life. At Kaziranga tiol Park, the Duke and Duchess will interact with the rich variety of wildlife, as well as pay tribute to the rural traditions of communities living around the park, the statement said.

Assam Forest minister Atuwa Munda said the visit of the Royal couple will give a boost to tourism in the tiol park besides supporting its conservation efforts.
