Quake effect: Demolition drive on the cards

Guwahati, April 28: Rattled by the devastating Nepal quake, Assam Disaster Magement minister Dr Bhumidhar Barman today indicated that old buildings in Fancy Bazar and Lakhtokia area of the city may be demolished if they are not found to be secure. “It is a cause of concern for us. If necessary, we will demolish old buildings in these congested areas,” he said.
