Kamalpur/ lbari/ Dalgaon, April 8: Promising to create 10 lakh jobs in Assam in the next five years, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today launched another scathing attack at Prime Minister rendra Modi, charging him with failing to keep the promises made during the last Lok Sabha elections.

"The Prime Minister is now maintaining a stoic silence over the issues he mentioned during the last Lok Sabha elections. He made many promises to the people….I won't me all because you will be tired listening to them. One of the promises made by him was that black money stashed in overseas bank will be brought back and Rs 15 lakh deposited in each Indian's account," Gandhi said addressing election rallies here.

"I would like to ask everyone present here, did anyone get Rs 15 lakh from Modiji? Forget Rs 15 lakh, did anyone get even Rs 15 from Modiji?" he asked.

He said Modi even promised employment to 2 crore youths and asked the people present in the rallies if anyone was given a job by the Prime Minister in the last two years.

He alleged that Modi had a habit of making promises and forgetting them conveniently, for which the people of Bihar had rejected him in last year's polls.

Gandhi said, "The people of Bihar had asked Modiji to fulfill his Lok Sabha campaign promises before making new ones for the state polls. The people of Bihar had slapped a defeat on him and his party last year and that should be repeated by the people of Assam."

The Congress vice-president further alleged that the BJP and RSS was out to create hatred and division among communities and appealed the people of Assam not to fall prey to the commul politics of these forces.

"Harya was progressing well. There was development and peace in the state. Soon after the BJP came to power, riots have started. This is what they do when they are in power," he said.

He urged the people of Assam to vote the Congress for a fourth straight term in the State so that the trajectory of peace and development that has started taking an upward climb can go further up.

He promised a slew of initiatives for Assam if the party retains power, including 10 lakh jobs in five years, filling up all government vacancies, 500 SHGs for women in every block, free medical facility for families with annual income less than Rs 2 lakh per year, cold storages in every block among others.

Referring to Chattisgarh CM Raman Singh's son's me allegedly figuring in the Pama Papers, Gandhi questioned the Prime Minister's silence over the issue and said, "Modiji should tell the people why no action is being taken against the BJP CM's son; why the black money has not been brought back; why people like Vijay Mallya and Lalit Modi were allowed to leave the country and no efforts made to bring them back."
