Recruit 5,000 youths from NE, Sonowal tells NF Railway

Guwahati, June 16: Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal today called upon the NF Railway authorities to recruit Northeast youths in 5,000 3rd and 4th grade vacant railway posts.  During a meeting with NFR general mager and other top railway officials at his secretariat office, the CM also stressed upon expediting the double-track works from Lumding to Guwahati. The NFR officials informed Sonowal that approval for double-tracking of the Bongaigaon-Guwahati section has been accorded in the rail budget. Electrification of the Katihar-Bongaigaon section will be completed by March, 2018, the railway officials also informed.
