GUWAHATI: Need to get one’s name enrolled in the photo electoral roll or get an error of an already enrolled person corrected? One has to opt for one of the two ways – through one’s BLO (booth-level officer) or through online – as both the routes lead one to the Election Commission of India.
Nowadays those who are net-savvy (internet-savvy) can get their names enrolled in the electoral roll through online. They will have to use the National Voters’ Services Portal – NVSP.in – to fill in the required forms online to get their jobs done. Apart from new entry having attained the age of 18 in the electoral roll, those who have error or errors in the enrollment can also get the errors corrected through online by using the same portal. They will have to fill in a different form.
However, people who are not net-savvy can get such jobs – fresh enrollment or getting errors corrected – done through their respective BLOs. Each polling booth has a BLO.
