Rita Chowdhury appointed NBT director

Guwahati, July 16: The government has appointed Sahitya Akademi Award winning writer Rita Chowdhury, a professor of Political Science at Cotton College, as the Director of tiol Book Trust. The post had fallen vacant after MA Sikandar retired in August last year. "The HRD ministry on Wednesday cleared Rita Chowdhury's me as the next Director of NBT," ministry officials said. Chowdhury will be in the post for three years. She is the first person from Assam to be appointed in the post.
