Royal couple appreciates Assam's 'efforts' in rhino conservation

Guwahati, May 4: The British High Commission expressed its gratitude to the Government of Assam and the people at large for making the visit of Royal couple- Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton to Assam a success. In a letter sent to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, British Deputy High Commissioner to India Scott Furssedonn Wood mentioned that 'Their Royal Highnesses' Prince William and Kate Middleton enjoyed the time they spent in Assam with its people. The letter made a particular mention about how the Royal couple was impressed with the hospitality of Assam and the excellent work that the State has put in with regard to conservation strategies for rhinos and other wild lives and steps taken to address the problem of man-animal conflict.

The British High Commission has also placed it on record the unparalleled cooperation rendered by the Government of Assam which was instrumental in making the visit of the Royal couple a success.
