Samujjal questions CM’s silence over victims of police firing during anti-CAA protests

GUWAHATI: “Do the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues at all have hearts?” questioned AASU (All Assam Students’ Union) adviser-in-chief Samujjal Bhattacharya from Latasil playground here on Saturday.

Talking to The Sentinel on Saturday, the AASU leader said, “It’s unfortunate that the Chief Minister has not spoken a single word on those youths who lost their lives during the agitation against the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Bill). Other ministers of his Cabinet are no different. Don’t they have any hearts? We want stringent actions against those responsible for the killings.”

Spelling out the next phase of agitation against the CAA, Bhattacharya said, “On December 23 we’re again going to hold a demonstration with the participation of men and women in large numbers at the Latasil playground. The AASU, together with the artiste fraternity and the residents of the Hatigaon area, is going to hold the public adya shraddha of Sam Stafford at the Hatigaon High School playground on Sunday.”
