Sankardev awards to ML Varadpande, Kaksen Deka

Guwahati, August 10: The Srimanta Sankardev Awards for the year 2011 and 2014 have been conferred on noted scholar ML Varadpande and veteran jourlist Kakeen Deka respectively. The award carries Rs 3 lakh cash and a citation. State’s Cultural Affairs minister Bismita Gogoi said President Prab Mukherjee is being given an invitation to present the awards at a function to be organized in the city at a later date.
