Science topper aims to become doctor

gaon, May 30: Prashree Kalita, who topped the higher secondary examition in the Science stream, wants to become a doctor.

“It has been my childhood dream to serve poor and sick people. I would be very happy if this dream comes true some day,” Prashree, who hails from Athgaon in Dhing, told The Sentinel.

She is the only daughter of Prab Chandra Kalita, a field publicity officer, and Lakhimoni Kalita.

Scoring 490 marks, Prashree is also the highest scorer in Altertive English (99), Physics (99) and Chemistry (100).

 “I had hoped to secure the 3rd or 4th position, but never thought I would be the topper,” she exclaimed.

Prashree studied up to 13 hours a day and did not take any private tuition.

She expressed her gratitude to the teachers of Ramanujan Junior College who helped her in all ways.

She also feels that medium of learning cannot be an obstacle to success.

Not happy with the present political system, Prashree also had some caustic words to say against the government for the deplorable condition of roads in gaon town.
