Scrap coupon system darshan in Kamakhya, Debuttor Board told

Guwahati, June 24: Taking note of the discrimition of devotees, the Kamrup metropolitan administration has asked the Kamakhya Debuttar Board to scrap the system of issuing VIP tickets for facilitating quicker and closer darshan at the revered shrine. “We have clearly told the Debuttar Board to stop this system of issuing Rs 100- Rs 500 tickets. Devotees should not be divided. However, we have asked them to make special arrangements for senior citizens, children, women and foreign tourists,” Kamrup (metro) deputy commissioner M Angamuthu said.
