SDRF money released Rs 5 crore for 'Zonal scanning & Quarantine Centres'

GUWAHATI: The Revenue & Disaster Management Department, on Monday, released Rs 5 crore to five district administrations for the 'Zonal scanning and Quarantine Centres', where people of Assam arriving from outside the State will have to first report.

Sources informed that Rs 1 crore has been earmarked each for Cachar, Guwahati, Sonitpur, Jorhat and Kokrajhar. The money has been released from the SDRF (State Disaster Response Fund) under which Rs 171.60 crore was kept for the fight against COVID. Earlier, the Department had released approximately Rs 99.27 crore to the DCs and SDOs (C) in this regard.
