Six AANLA cadres held with weapons

Guwahati, May 4: Security forces apprehended six All Adivasi tiol Liberation Army cadres, including its self-styled chairman And yak alias Dilip yak in East Karbi Anglong.

The operation was launched yesterday following a specific information from the military intelligence, defence spokesman Lt Col Suneet Newton said.  These cadres had recently entered the district to carry out a weapons deal close to the galand border and were bbed from one of their transit locations in Jilangso village under Bakuliya police station, he said. The other five cadres were identified as district commander Sumon Gaur, Mandeep Gour, Kak Ram, Uttam Munda and Riten Munda. Six factory-made pistols with ammunition and two hand gredes were recovered from them. Meanwhile, an NDFB(S) militant was also held from Gossaigaon market in Kokrajhar district.
