Snubbed AIUDF's new slogan ekla chalo

By Our Staff Reporter
Guwahati, Dec 6: A day after it emerged that the BJP is trying to forge an alliance with the AGP and the BPF, AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal, who had been scouting for a non-Congress and non-BJP alliance, has switched over to a new slogan - 'ekla chalo'. "What can we do if no one comes on board? Our policy will be ekla chalo," he told reporters soon after arriving at Guwahati from Delhi. Ajmal said his party will not go for any pre-poll tie up. "We will see how many seats we can get. Then we will decide (on a post-poll) tie-up," he said. Asked about statements by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi that he has been talking to the Congress as well as the BJP, Ajmal said, "You better pose this question to the Chief Minister." But he added that if any proposal comes from the Congress, his party will take a call.
