Sonowal clears air

GUWAHATI, June 7: Amidst the confusion over office hours, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal made it categorically clear that no order has been issued that government officials and employees have to work beyond regular office hours. “News reports in a section of the media that government employees have to work beyond office hours is false and baseless. I have only appealed to the employees to work with more sincerity and commitment,” Sonowal said in a statement. Exhorting the employees to improve upon work culture, Sonowal said he had appealed to them to work with more devotion, dedication and determition ‘as the people have high expectations of our new dispensation and gave the massive mandate to usher in overall change’.
