Sonowal stresses on permanent border trade

Itagar, July 5: Acknowledging the significance of border trade through Myanmar, Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal has emphasised on permanent opening of border trade points with South East Asian countries which will benefit Assam and Aruchal Pradesh. Sonowal was speaking to reporters during a short visit to Jairmapur in Changlang district on Tuesday, following an invitation of mpong MLA Laisam Simai.

The Assam Chief Minister toured parts of the Assam-Aruchal border. Sonowal highlighted the need to create and expand regiol markets for trade, investments and industrial development. Echoing the views of the Assam CM, Simai said that opening of border trade would tremendously boost trade and tourism in the region.
