Speaker meets DoNER minister over floods

NEW DELHI, Aug 1: Assam Assembly Speaker Ranjit Kumar Das called on the DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh on Monday to discuss the Assam floods and the devastation caused by it.

Das informed Singh that all the ministers in the state government were making all efforts to mitigate the suffering of the people affected by floods. During the meeting Dass was told that there will be no dearth of cooperation from the Centre in rehabilitating the affected people during the floods.

“Das also brought to the notice of Jitendra Singh the project relating to the construction of a two-lane Railway Over-bridge in Barpeta district under the Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) funds of the DoNER ministry,” said an official statement. (IANS)
