State BJP polls soon

GUWAHATI, Sept 11: The BJP, Assam Pradesh has been gearing up for organizatiol polls as the term of the present committee is going to expire on October 29, 2015. According to the policy of the party, the person to be elected president will be barred from fighting elections so that he/she can devote fully on organizatiol matters.

The high command has deputed party vice president and MP Abhish Roy Khan as the observer and Rajdeep Roy as state returning officer (SRO). The process of organization polls, according to party sources, has been speeded up as the Assembly election in the State is nearing. According to sources in the party, the new committee will assume office by the first week of November.

The preference for the post of president, according to sources, will be accorded to the MPs as they will not have to fight the 2016 Assembly elections in the State. The party is on the lookout for a candidate who can keep in touch with leaders and cadres of the party at booth, mandal and district levels and devote more time for the party, sources said.

According to sources in the party, MP Ramen Deka is going to keep in tough with party leaders and cadres, right from the booth level to the State level so as to make the party a coherent force.    

Sources in the party have further said that the election campaign committee of the party may also be med in October. The State leadership has requested the high command to me the poll campaign committee soon so that it gets enough time to get ready for the 2016 electoral showdown.
