Delhi-Guwahati flights begin

Guwahati, April 2: Vistara, a joint venture of Tata Sons Ltd and Singapore Airlines Ltd, today forayed into Eastern and Northeastern region of the country by launching daily flights to destitions in the region.

Commencing with its iugural flight at 1225 hours from New Delhi to Guwahati today, Vistara will now operate daily flights on the Delhi-Guwahati-Bagdogra-Delhi route.

Speaking on the occasion of the airlines foray into this sector, PheeTeik Yeoh, CEO, Vistara said, “We have had lots of customers asking us to fly to Eastern India over the past month, so we are delighted to launch this new route in response to customer demand. The addition of this route reaffirms our commitment to promote regiol connectivity in India, and contribute to the Government’s efforts to boost trade and opening up development avenues for people in these regions.”

Vistara now flies from Delhi to seven destitions - Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Bagdogra, between Mumbai and Ahmedabad and will soon commence flights to Pune from April 9.

With five aircrafts already in operation, Vistara’s fleet will grow to six aircrafts this month and nine aircrafts by the end of this year. As part of its focused expansion plan, Vistara will soon add more destitions and enhancements to its product and services offerings, a press statement said here.
