Two ga shooters among four poachers held

GAON, Dec 2: In a joint operation, STF and Assam Forest Protection Force, caught four rhino poachers at Jakhalabandha on Tuesday night and seized two .303 rifles along with silencers and 15 live bullets from their possession.

The operation was launched by the STF and AFPF following an intelligence input. The poachers were travelling in an Ertiga car. The apprehended poachers were identified as Akhtar Ali of Kuthari Deopani, zim Uddin of Ambagaon of Samaguri constituency and Abhi Awami and Saten Seng of Dimapur in galand. Both Awami and Seng are known professiol shooters. Akhtar Ali and zim Uddin had hired both Saten and Abhi Awami from Dimapur to kill rhinos in Kaziranga tiol Park. The gang was being interrogated in the AFPF camp at Sikni near Jakhalabandha.
