Uble to find legacy data, woman attempts suicide!

Numaligarh, June 24: A woman in Golaghat district attempted to commit suicide allegedly after failing to find her legacy data for enrolling her me in the NRC. The woman, Arkali Kaul (45), wife of Bishnu Kaul, is a resident of Kaul Basti in Bokial of Golaghat district.  Sources said she consumed pesticides last night in an attempt to kill herself. She was rushed to Golaghat Koshal Kunwar Civil Hospital. According to hospital sources, she is out of danger now. “Her parents lived in Dhuli Tea Estate of Titabar. As they are no more, she is uble to find her legacy data. She had been suffering from depression since several days because of this. She had a perception that she might have to part with her husband and in-laws because of this. That is why she attempted suicide,” local sources said.  The incident has brought to the fore the plight of the rural populace who are having a harrowing time in collecting their legacy data for the NRC. Rumours are being spread in rural areas, especially tea gardens, creating an anxiety among the people.
